Get your hands off! That’s Zoe’s.
It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it. When Zoe of So Zo spotted some grey zebra leopard print (details updated after my mum pointed out that zebras don’t have spots!) in one of my recent Walthamstow photos, she asked me to snap some up for her should I ever be passing the stall again. Zoe, do bears do the proverbial in large wooded areas? Of course I was going to be passing this stall again. It was very busy today and I had to wait my turn, so when I spotted someone else fingering that cotton I felt nervous. Would I fail in my mission ? Fortunately, the lady wandered off and I was able to buy a metre and a half of this for my fellow Sewist:
I’ll email you for a postal address, Zoe.
But what’s that I hear you cry? ‘Karen, didn’t you swear in your VERY LAST POST never to go shopping again with your fellow bloggers?’ Yes, reader, you remember correctly. Unlike my good self. Having made my Zoe Purchase, I thought I’d wander the market, see what else was out there. Sewists+Wandering=Spending. I should know that by now. I spotted this rather interesting rose print tweed at only £2.75 a metre (that’s a velvet print, by the way):
So I snapped up two metres, with a vague notion to make another Jenny skirt. (You can never have too many Jenny skirts.)
I also stopped by my favourite notions shop and photographed their ribbons for you. Check these babies out:
More ribbons than you can dream of.
Sadly, I spotted one gentleman on the market who was in dire need of a Sewist’s help. Look at the state of this bloke’s jacket:
IN OTHER NEWS
Tilly of Tilly and the Buttons has had the inspired idea of setting up a Crafty Christmas Club. She’s even supplied us with a little button (see right of my blog). I’ve signed up straight away as I think a shared creative blog will encourage me to pull my finger out in good time and make some decent presents for the family. I didn’t do too brilliantly last Christmas. In fact, my sister is still waiting for me to finish knitting the pair of fingerless gloves I gave her. She only received one glove in the end and recently sent me this text:
I think my sister fancies herself as some sort of comedian.
I can take a hint! So I’m hoping Tilly will help me be better organised this year. I’ve signed up for Crafty Christmas Club and already have one project in mind to post. Why don’t you sign up too? We can chivvy each other on and I can’t wait to see what everyone else is making!
