This sums up Great Britain right now.
As I languish with the stinking cold to top all stinking colds, it’s only right that I should lie in bed and imagine future events where I might be happy, healthy, surrounded by good friends and the world of crafting.
Don’t forget that soon, very soon (1 December to be exact) we’re meeting at Drink, Shop Do for an evening making our own mulled wine bags. The original blog post is here, and so far myself, Zoe, Tilly, Carly and Shivani are down to meet up. Do join us if you’d like to! (I’ve emailed the store for the time of the event and will circulate when I know.) The more, the merrier. I can’t recommend this venue enough. I think I’m also going to attend their ‘Crochet A Christmas Star’ event on the 8th as I really want to learn how to crochet.
In other news, I’ve just found out about an event at the Barbican that comes highly recommended: Future Beauty, 30 Years of Japanese Fashion. Little Bird has already raved about this exhibition and a sewing friend of mine says it’s the best exhibition she’s ever been to. Really. Do you fancy it? Do you? This might make a nice January outing to cheer us all up after Christmas and the return-to-work blues. I’m going to suggest Saturday January 15 to attend. It’s £8 a ticket if you book in advance here. (£10 on the door.) After the exhibition we could stroll to the Barbican Lounge Bar for a cocktail. What do you think?
Oh, and if you’re feeling brave enough to mix with real fashion students, check out this workshop the Barbican is hosting!
Okay, it’s time for me to pull a towel over my head and hold my dripping nose over a steaming bowl of menthol crystals. Can you tell I don’t get ill that often? I really like to MILK it when I do.
