A friend was picking me up from Stansted aiport – not for airborne travel, you understand, just for a lift in her car. Obviously I had to get there 45 minutes early for a photo opportunity. Even so, things weren’t looking good to start with. What can I tell you? International travel isn’t what it used to be – I was surrounded by arguing couples and staff wearing fluorescent vests. Where were the dashing airline pilots and glamorous air hostesses?
I sat down and had an early breakfast, resigned to a poor show. Then I spotted one of these ladies.
‘Please can I have a photo with you, please, please, please?’ I begged shamelessly.
‘Do you want a photo with two of us?’ she asked, just before my head exploded with delight.
That big grin I’m wearing? That’s me forcing myself to stay calm, squeezed between the beautiful Rebecca and Cath.
Best of all? My Simplicity 2245 Lisette is colour coordinated with the Easy Jet uniform. This morning, my childhood dreams of being a glamorous air hostess were as close as ever they’d come to being realised. How cool is that?
You’re probably thinking I can’t top this photo.
I still have 26 days left…
The colour coordination with the Easy Jet uniforms is spot on. lol. you never know, you could be offered a job there. I think i have this pattern. best give it another look.
Absolutely brilliant!
I think your MMJ photos are the best and are really keeping this project super fun and interesting. Love the coordination of your dress and the unis.
This was one was too cute.
The dress is gorgeous, and I was very impressed by you finding ladies with colour co-ordinating outfits!
So funny! This is going to be a great diary of events for you too! x
Gah! What a fabulous moment of sheer pleasure – all with matching outfits! I am completely in love with your fun Me Made June-ness! The dress looks fabulous and doubly made for a trip to the airport while traveling, and yes, you called ahead and made sure that your outfit would match not only the hostesses, but the seat you’ll be sitting in too! xoxo, Sunni
Good work! I’m intrigued – are you telling these people why you want a photo with them, or just asking for the photo? Do they know it’s for your blog? Do they know you’re wearing something you made? I’d be interested to hear their reactions if you tell them the whole story! x
I’m really enjoying these pics, and so impressed you’re getting Londoners to co-operate!
Karen, I have had very little time to check out blogs recently but I’m always making sure to pop into yours, your MMJ posts never fail to make me smile! Echoing Tilly’s question, are you telling them about MMJ??
Thanks so much, Carly!
Your photos make my day!!
Love the little stories that go with your MMJ pics! (And that’s a lovely tunic. 🙂
I’d like to hear how you ‘sell’ getting a photo taken too – do you tell the whole blog/MMJ story? Love all your photos so far – I’m looking forward to more!
Another corker today Karen. Yeah I’m curious too, do you tell potential photographees why you a want picture with them?
I think your dress works very well with those uniforms. You deserve to be a hostess:)
It’s been fun watching to see who and where your next photo shoot will be.
Yay! You are clearly using “those exotic moves” (to quote the song further) to get such great photos! I hope you’re having a koo koo day 🙂 (Had you guessed this is one of my fave songs!!)
Love it!!!
I LOVE the colour-coordination! So, shameless begging is the best tactic for getting your photo taken? I’ve taken note…
CAN’T WAIT too see what you come up with for the next 26 days..
Zoe xxx
Love your smile in this photo! What a delight!
Psst! Don’t tell the other blogs, but your MMJ posts are the only ones I’m still reading (and enjoying)! 😀
