MMJ14 – The Youth Of Today

Shut it, you lot! I may be old enough to be their mother, but that doesn’t mean I can’t grin like an idiot when being photographed with Shaun, Kieran and Jo. Aw, bless. I bet they drink bottles of cider down on the beach of an evening. I remember those days.

These weren’t the only fine gentlemen I spotted out and about in Cornwall today. It’s a long time since I saw a Safari suit:

This is a lovely South African couple, Edan and Wendy. We were here:

I’m wearing my Hokey Cokey Dress and the Betty Mini Sweater I made about this time last summer. The dress has seen a lot of wear, despite the dreadful fitting issues. It’s great for cycling in! (Though take it from one who knows, less suited to sea breezes!) The cardigan is a great item to throw on in the summer.

I’m struggling with another highly fragile Internet connection, so that’s your lot for now. Back to London tomorrow!

IN OTHER HOLIDAY NEWS

I suffered a bee sting to my finger today but a triple chocolate ice-cream made everything much better.

Karen, you RACY thing! I love the fact that you’ve had your photo taken with a shirtless surfer!!
I was stung on the hand by a bee a few years ago. MUCH more painful than a wasp sting, and I cried because a) it hurt and b) I thought it meant the bee would die. However, it stopped hurting quite soon and the bee flew away. Also, I had some cake and that helped too.

  2. I’m loving your soujourn in Cornwall!
Beautiful clothes, as always, and ice cream always helps make you feel better after bee stings or other mishaps 🙂

Gorgeous outfit Karen, I love that dress and it looks fab with your cardigan. Edan and his safari suit wins hands down against the gang of teenage surfers! I old fashioned gents, especially wearing such fine togs. x

  4. Jane says:

I’ll take one of each, please. Well, except for the bee sting.

  7. Santie says:

Oh, how funny – my South African grandfather used to wear safari suits all the time! It must be a generation-thing … or do you reckon men get to a point where they go, ‘yep, it’s time!’?

  8. Sarah says:

Oh I do love the safari suit on the old gentleman. Fantastic! Your me-mades are, of course, fantastic! 🙂

I love your new friends, especially the lovely man in the safari suit. I wonder if I could find a pattern for that on etsy – super-cool for my DH on vacation. Love your dress!
