Knitting Around The Christmas Tree…

I’ve received some lovely presents:

And had the pleasure of seeing my makes go down a storm:

This is an iPad cover I made using a tutorial I found via the Crafty Christmas Club. (Thanks, Andrea!) Everything I used was bought from Ray Stitch. Yes, that is a map of Paris. I found myself hugging this to my chest on Christmas Day, even though this was made for my sister. I want one for myself now, though I’d have to invest in an iPad first, which might make it the most expensive make ever!

On Boxing Day, I helped a friend finish her first knitted item:

By total coincidence, this is the same snood that Sewaholic recently completed. Juicy Knits has also been making a version here. It’s a class act, no doubt about it. I recommended this project to Amy for a first make, though in hindsight I think this was a wee bit challenging for a novice – knitting in the round and not a quick make. But Amy did a sterling job and this is a beautiful accessory. I’ll admit, I’m jealous as hell. Might need to make another snood…

The free pattern can be found at Ravelry here, though you’ll need to be a member. I think this is the wool that Amy used. You definitely want a wool that holds structure well.

Hope you’re all enjoying the holidays! Me? I’m packing for stage two…

Those earrings are just too cute!! I am liking the snood as well, perhaps it’s time I had another on the go…by coincidence I have recently joined Ravelry, so I am off to favourite that pattern right now…just in case…!!

Darling earrings and I bet that Liberty book is gorgeous. So glad your gifts went down a storm. A much better feeling I bet than handing over shop bought. I feel so bad I didn’t get it together to make gifts, save a few pots of jam… next year!!!

Score!!!!!!!!! Happy Christmas Karen. That Ipad cover is incredible, approx. seven squillion times nicer than any mass manufactured ipad cover on sale!

Festive love and hugs, wishing you a creative and fabulous new year ahead

Lovely makes! And I really want that app too… but rather like your need for an i-pad cover, it would require me to invest in an expensive bit of techno kit… so maybe not!

  12. Oooo look at the snood look at the snood! Yay Amy. Love that i-pad cover.
The new Liberty collection is great, they have some chinese man type fabric. Now I need to buy an i-pad and that fabric to make one ๐Ÿ˜‰
