So exciting! The wonderful Oonaballoona has strong armed her Ruggy into making us our very own original Pyjama Party cocktail. Drink up!
Excuse me ladies … does anyone have an extra pair of pyjama bottoms? I FORGOT MINE!
But I did bring a cocktail. A kalkatroonaan never forgets her cocktail.
Here in sunny California, we’ve become quite enamored of the happy hour, and my Ruggy has gallantly mixed me many a drink. Vying for another oscar and hoping to bribe the nominating committee (or is he hoping for a detailed account of a pillow fight?), he’s come up with the perfect mix for Karen’s boudoir soiree: the sweeteeny ‘tini.
Actually, I told him loudly and excitedly over Manhattans that Karen had asked me to bring a cocktail to the party and ooooh you have to come up with one because it would be SO COOL you remember karen right she’s my friend from London she made that amazing coat and she sang happy birthday to me and she gave you an award and you’ll come up with something great right ‘KTHANX!
The Sweeteeny ‘Tini
A miniature and sweet riff on the Martini, sure to get you just as toasted.
- gin 1&1/2 oz
- sweet vermouth 1/2 oz
- agave nectar 1/4 tsp
- a squeeze of lemon juice
Ruggy’s Instructions:
“Shake thoroughly over ice for at least 30 seconds, preferably one minute. Strain into appropriate vessel. Garnish with lemon rind, or whatever makes you happy. A cherry. An onion. An olive. Just kidding. A black peppercorn. Hey, that last one sounds interesting…”
We’ll be sipping and celebrating the Pyjama Party over yonder in kalkatroona, probably watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer and cheering on Spike. We may even get into a pillow fight. Those Sweeteenys are deceptively teeny.
Woohoo! Thanks so much, Oonaballoona. I think I have almost all the ingredients for that cocktail in our drinks cupboard. Ian! Can you get the cocktail shaker out?
You need one of these things to hold your wine glass to be hands free: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Oceanpeg
The cocktail sounds yummy! I’ll have to try one tonight.
Woohoooo! Now that’s my kind of pyjama party…music and cocktails!! So much fun!!!

ruggy says you can use sugar if agave isn’t at hand… but then definitely shake it for the whole minute!
Ah, that’s great to know. Not so much agave nectar in Walthamstow, East London!
