The WIP Pitch

I’ve noticed that bloggers really enjoy sharing intriguing photos of Works In Progress – or WIPs. I totally understand why. Sometimes, a make can take a long time and the temptation to share is overwhelming. I don’t have a finished item to show you, but you can glimpse what I’m working on

As a reader, I find these snapshots fascinating. What is it? A dress? A skirt? A quilt? Inspired by The House of Pinheiro sharing a tantalsing glimpse of … something! … on Twitter recently, I thought it might be fun to set up a WIP Pitch. Readers can send me deeply mysterious photos of their Works In Progress and I’ll do a round-up post in which we all have fun guessing what they’re making. What do you think?

House of Pinheiro’s recent intriguing snapshot. What is it?!

To get the ball rolling, here’s a photo of something I’m working on right now. There will undoubtedly be a reveal very soon, but you get the picture. Or not.

What are you making, Karen?

Shall we try this? You can email photos of your WIPS to me by midnight GMT Friday 13 July and I’ll do a round-up on Saturday 14 July. Contributors can reveal in the comments what their makes are, once they feel they’ve teased us enough.

This is open to any form of sewing, knitting, crochet, papier-mache-making, play-doh moulding – anything. All comers welcome!

Oooh, I LOVE this idea. I’ll be making something tomorrow that I’ll snap and send along if I have time – have Open Studios this weekend so things are a little bonkers.

  6. Jane says:

Cool! It’s a bit like a sewing/craft version of Question of Sport (where they show you footage of a sporty person’s’s ear, then their foot etc etc and you have to work out who it is!)
I’m tempted to think you’re making another Sorbetto but can’t think where you would need tailor’s tacks. Whatever it is I want it! x

  7. Kat says:

I love it, what a great idea!

  8. Oh Karen, I am so proud – your lovely tailor’s tacks. Don’t you love them now?

Reblogged this on Significant Seams and commented:
Do you have a work in progress to add to this photo pool?

  15. Sarah says:

I’m in…I have far too many WIPs. I should take a photo of the leaning tower of half assembled items….
