Winners! The Great British Sewing Bee Giveaway

Great British Sewing Bee Giveaway

Wow, guys! You really like The Great British Sewing Bee, don’t you? There were over 450 entries in my giveaway, which made for huge fun picking the winners. But first, can I say how well brought up you all are? All those ‘please’s and ‘thank you’s – your parents would be proud!

Right, now onto the important stuff. The Random Number Generator came up with number 164 – Arnysews, who asked for the book. Hoorah! This meant I could pick a second winner. Number 282 was the next one randomly generated. I decided that if person 282 hadn’t asked only for the fabric, I would then pick whoever was nearest that number. One person above was Carmencita who asked if I’d ship gingham to France. Darn right, I’ll send this baby over the Channel. Ooh, la, la! Carmencita, j’espere vous aimez votre tissu.

I’ll be in touch with both winners for postal addresses.

I’m off to the V&A today for a sewing meet-up to end all sewing meet-ups. I believe there are nearly 40 of us gathering in today’s glorious sunshine. I hope the shop owners in Goldhawk Road have dusted off their flirting skills…

Oh my, forty of you! As a sewer (and V&A employee, would love to see their faces as forty enthusiasts descend armed with patterns, fabric swatches and mad chatter about silk, linen, jersey, best type of sewing machines etc) I wish I could be there. Unfortunately am buried in college coursework folders (pattern manipulations for 1895 sportswear) but at least can sit in the conservatory enjoying the sunshine.
