This is my second version of The Mathilde Blouse, made with a viscose from Stone Fabrics. I used a red cotton sateen for the cuffs and covered them with white lace I had in my stash.
I also treated myself to some beautiful red shell buttons from Liberty:
Yet again, the blouse came together perfectly. I just love this pattern, though maybe my third version should be in a solid colour so that we can actually see those gorgeous tucks in the front. Initially I was sad that I omitted to insert navy piping along the bottom of the yoke, but now I think maybe less is more. After all, we do already have white lace and red shell buttons! What do you think? Hmmm. Maybe a touch more red needed…
Have you made this blouse? How would you customise it?
Aw you look so cute in the photo with the lipstick, Karen! That’s all I have to say really 🙂
Ooh la la, lady! You look GORGEOUS! Your best photos yet. (Not counting the one with the lollipop man, obvs.) Lurrrve this blouse en rouge. xx
Beautiful! You look exceptionally glamorous for this time on a Saturday morning. Puts my David bowie t shirt and old maternity dress turned into nautical maxi skirt combo to shame … That’s the power of Me Made May I guess though – I need to get cracking with things I can actually wear in public without panicking if I see someone I know!
Gorgeous photos! I love the femininity touch of the Mathilde blouse and the lace details are exquisite.
wowww thats my fav version of the blouse.. you should wear red more often Karen
Gorgeous! Love the cuffs and the gorgeous red shell buttons.
I love the lace! I’m definitely going to add some to my next project 🙂
Gorgeous, so glam 🙂
Beautiful! You look so gorgeous in red!
I agree – you look great in rouge! (On another note, I look forward to the time when I’ll have a stash and use it in projects…)
Beautiful! I love the pattern too and dream of a direct Tilly rip off in a navy polkadot with red piping. I’m also toying with turning the tucks into gathers at the yoke. And maybe a sleeveless or cap sleeved version?
I have just bought the pattern, I sometimes feel a little scared making ‘all the rage’ patterns, as my makes have a very home made look! A little summer sleeve version would be nice though.
The red really suits you!
Lovely blouse on you! I like it tucked in; a good way to control the volume. Your photos are amazing too. Jealous.
Oooo the added lace is too cute!! I love seeing all the variations of this pattern. I’m kicking myself for not making it yet!
Lovely blouse!
Love your hair and make-up – you look great in red!
Very lovely!
The cuffs and buttons really make this blouse very nice indeed. I haven’t made it, but if I were to I would swap the sleeves for less voluminous ones (purely personal preference in terms of what flatters me).
Ooooh wow! My favorite version yet! I love it!
gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Love it 😉
You look sensational in red! Terrific looking top.
You’ve done the pattern proud again!
Love it Karen- the added lace and shell buttons are super cute touches. And you should definitely wear more red!
Definitely my favourite Mathilde yet and you look fantastic in red, it really suits you. And those buttons are gorgeous, and the lace, well everything really. I love it!
This is just a DIVINE version. I really love it! The little extra bits with the lace and buttons make it, too.
Lovely photos! This looks great on you!
Gorgeous you look so chic.
