So, as I mentioned, Simplicity very recently sent me some patterns and encouraged me to share them with readers in a giveaway. Who was I to say no? So much fun, choosing patterns for you.
Regular readers may recognise the one on the left. I’ve made two versions of the Simplicity 1882 blogged about here and here.
I can genuinely testify to the wondrousness of this pattern. Princess seams make bodice fitting much easier, there are some nice details to make construction interesting – ickle bow, pretty pockets, nice collar – and the shape is just flattering as can be. There’s also great potential for piping! Maybe most importantly, there are separate pattern pieces for different cup sizes. Simplicity Amazing Fit live up to their brand name on this pattern.
What else, what else? I thought that Simplicity 1606 looked so charming – and again a flattering fit with interesting design details. The pattern can veer young enough for a prom dress, summery enough for a beach halterneck or sophisticated enough for a wedding. And again, those separate cup size pattern pieces. What’s not to like?!
So, leave a comment below saying which pattern you’d like 1606 or 1882. I’m dead curious to see which one proves most popular! (I bet Simplicity will be interested, too.) This giveaway is open worldwide and will close on Sunday 21 July at midnight GMT.
A big thank you to Simplicity! Not only Amazing Fit but Absolutely Amazing.
I love both your versions of 1882, although I think the turquoise one is my favourite; it looks classy but practical, exactly the kind of thing I would wear a lot! So i’d love to be in the pot for that one!
1606 is my favorite. I am pear shaped so fitted bodices with flared skirts look and fit best on me.
1606 if I get pulled out of the hat, please 🙂
Oh how nice! I was just making myself a spreadsheet as a pattern wish list, and 1882 is on there, so I’d love to be put into the hat for that one!
Hi Karen! I’d love 1882. I think it has classic styling yet can be fresh depending on the fabric!
ooh ooh 1882 please! I have been lusting after it ever since seeing your first, and the second just about killed me! thank you and simplicity!
Have to agree with Hester – loved your turquoise version of 1882 and feel sure both my daughter, Ella (your lovely dog and my lovely daughter share the same name 🙂 and I, will love making our own versions. Thanks for considering us and keep up the great work, you’re an inspiration to us all.
I need to start sewing more clothes that are classy but that can be worn every day so I’d choose 1882!
That’s too funny! Both of these patterns are on my wish list, but if I had to pick one I would pick 1882. I’m a sucker for pockets and I also really love the neckline. Your two versions are adorable!
1882 is super sweet. I haven’t used a simplicity pattern in years. I could see this dress being very versatile. I love the versions you did. Especially the blue.
I’d opt for 1606. While the other pattern’s dresses look good on you, I’m not in favour of the wide middle piece of that dress. I do however, love the fact that 1606 has two different bodices (In my limited view anyways). However, the most important thing is enjoying the process of sewing any dress, and I hope that was the case for you!
I had looked at 1882 but didn’t think it was a pattern for my body but after seeing the ones you made, I changed my mind. I think I can alter it so it will look flattering on me. Thanks to you and Simplicity for this giveaway!
It has to be 1882 for me please, thanks to Simplicity for allowing this opportunity.
1606 please Karen 🙂 it would be perfect for my friends wedding!
I love 1882 but even with cup sizes A-D I would still need to do an FBA!
Can I enter for 1882? I love both if your versions and would love to blatantly plagiarise your work!
Oh my gosh — hard to choose! I guess 1606 if a gun were put to my head???
1882! Because I love your versions too!
I just cut out a version of 1882 yesterday, for Darling Daughter! Whoever wins this one has a gem on his/her hands. Good luck, and happy sewing to you, you lucky person.
Oh I’d love 1882 – think it looks very very flattering
I love the practical pockets of 1882. I love to be able to walk free with no bag, and those pockets look just right for a key and a lawn hanky!
1882, for sure, I’d make it for my sister, sans pockets
I love the 1882 pattern…and especially the fabrics you chose. I often stuggle with the fabric side of things…vanginney@gmail.com
I like them both, but I think 1882 looks more wearable for everyday.
I would go for 1606. Black linen mix for a classy look in the summer that could go into Autumn too.
I have 1606 and it is definitely trying my skills. Haha. I’m just a beginner but those princess seams are definitely my next challenge!
I’ve been meaning to try the Amazing Fit patterns for a while, I’d love 1882
I’d love to give 1882 a try!
I would love to have a go at 1606 please, fingers crossed, many thanks x
I love your versions of 1882 so that would definitely be with one for me!
I love to try my hand 1882 – it’s all about the pockets!
I feel like 1606 has my name written all over it…
I would love to enter for 1606 which was a tough decision because your versions look fab but I really like the sweetheart neckline.
1882 is totally my style – I’d love to win that one!
Definitely 1882 – I’m a sucker for dresses with pockets!
I love how versatile 1606 is!
Geez it’s a tough choice. I love your versions of 1882 – especially because I am not immediately attracted to the pattern envelope. Your versions show how much potential it has. But I’ll throw my lot in for 1606, since it’s not getting too much love so far. It looks like a great basic dress pattern, and if I get around to sewing my bridesmaid dress this might be perfect!
Pattern 1606 would be lovely if possible, have seen it already and would love the challenge of making it! Your patterned dress is lovely, perfect fabric, clever you x
I love both your version 1882 so that would definitely be the one for me!
1882 would be my choice, I think it could be made wearable everyday, and fit into my style. Rather than what I think my style could be, make something and then never wear it!!
What a great giveaway, I’m interested in the 1606 … Thank you very much for the chance 🙂
Yay – a giveaway! I recently made Simplicity 1800 and really wanted to do another Amazing Fit since now I know what fits and can skip the muslin stage. I like 1882 best by a long way! Both your versions are great. x
I love both your versions of 1882 so that would definitely be the one for me!
1606 please lovely looking pattern.
1606 is my favourite I think! I would use it to make sure my insides are as neat as yours! 😄
1882 – I can see from what you’ve made how versatile the pattern is, would love this one
1606 for me, please. Thank you!!
ooh, it’s so difficult to choose between them! i think i’d go for 1882 only because it has pockets so would be good for work. fingers crossed and good luck to all!
Think the pattern 1882 look very versatile .
Sue
both look amazing, but I would prefer 1882 🙂
I’d love 1882 – your teal version is a stunner! Ta muchly for doing the giveaway x
I would like to enter for 1882, I already have a pattern which is very similar to the other pattern. And I could do with an everyday dress pattern (though I can also imagine a couple of smarter versions.
Thanks for the giveaway! I would love 1882
I think I would get more use out of 1882. Your versions of it are lovely. Thank you
Ooh, 1606 for me. It looks just like my favourite ever dress – which is now unfortunately too small 🙁
I’d love to make a replacement.
1882 for me please I think it would make a really good work dress.
1606 my way please. 🙂
I love the 1606 and I’ve been looking for a freebie pattern similar to this to for some of my stash fabric. Fingers crossed. I love the other too but I’m living the fit and flare look at the moment so the 1606 is right up my street.
It would be the 1606 for me. I’m busty but with no discernible hip flare so the 1882 would look a bit shapeless on me, whereas the skirt on the 1606 would balance my figure out more. Also, I do love a halter-neck!
I’d go for 1882 (But that’s mostly because I already have 1606!)
I Think 1606 is just darling and would love to give it try. Thank you for the opportunity to win this awesome pattern.
Both are lovely patterns but I think 1606 is definitely more my style so I would love to be put in for that one please. I came across the amazing fits only recently and have been wanting to try one. Thanks to you and Simplicity!
1882 would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Looking at the envelope picture I would have never thought that I would love 1882 as much as I do. However, ever since I saw your two versions of it I have had it on my must sew list! Since I am on a self-imposed pattern purchase ban I would love to win a free copy!
Difficult choice as both look pretty. I think 1606 would work better for my rectangle body type, though so I’m in it for 1606 !
They do both look lovely and you’ve provided evidence by making a couple of versions yourself. I’d love to win either but the 1606 appeals to me a bit more – it’s my sister’s 30th birthday in a couple of weeks and I’ve been looking around for something special – Cinderella wants to go to the ball!
This is the very first time I attend a giveaway, because I would really love to try my hand on 1882. Both of your versions are adorable!
I’m leaning towards the 1882, because I don’t have any other pattern that looks a like, I have more patterns similar to the 1606 in my stash already, so yeah, 1882 it is!
I would love to make 1882, both patterns look super cute but that one looks a little bit more versatile to me
Thank you for the giveaway. I’d love to win 1882. I think it was seeing the pattern made up and that your dresses are awesome! I also agree that the pattern has a lot of potential for piping, and those pockets are fantastic. I hear great things about the Amazing Fit patterns and would love to actually try one for myself.
Lovely of them to offer this, and of you to host it – so thank you! 🙂
I LOVE the halter version of 1606 so please put my name in for that one! 🙂 (also I already have the other one, and love it as well – isn’t Amazing Fit awesome???)
Please count me in the giveaway for 1882 as well! I love your versions and the details with the pockets! Actually i haven’t done pockets on a dress yet, so that would be fun! (1606 is pretty as well, but i already own another simplicity pattern with a similar shape.)
Both are gorgeous! I like the 1606 just right for this weather too 🙂 xx
Ooo! I think 1882! I love pockets, the v-neck is really flattering, and that turquoise you used is really lovely! I definitely could go for something in that range…
I would like 1882 because I love your versions of this. I want to have a go at an amazing fit pattern, as I am often disappointed with the fit of my finished garments. I have sooo many patterns that I’m trying not to buy more but if I win it that’s different.
1882 is so cute with that little bow! Please put me in the ring for that one!
Oh, I’d love to win 1882. What’s better than a dress with pockets?
Thanks for the giveaway.
Oh wow, I love both of the patterns! How to decide? I love your 1882s, particularly the Nani Iro version, but I think the 1606 is probably more “me”, so thanks to you and Simplicity for the chance to win that one!
I like them both but want 1882 because well-it has pockets! Always, always, always a plus! Thanks for the chance! Glad I opened up Feedly this today!
1606, please! I’ve already made 1882, and I agree, it lives up to its name–amazing!
I’d love 1882 I have always admired your green version.
Hello the 1606 would be lovely and would stretch my sewing skills! Xx
I’d love 1882 please – it’s top of my shopping list for the next Simplicity pattern sale.
I’d enjoy making my own version of 1882. I like how both of yours turned out.
Love them both,1606 for me though please!
I think Simplicity 1882 would make an excellent dress for a job interview in the right fabric – just what I’ve been looking for!
Hard to choose, but the 1606 I think would be more flattering on me. If I win I´ll make it!
Ooo great giveaway, you chose two good ‘uns. Please count me in for 1882… would love to give that a whirl.
I like all of the different details on 1882. Yours look great!
I would love to have a go at 1882, I have just the fabric…
Definitely the 1882- so lovely!
1882 please, the V-neck should suit my figure better.
Ooh I would love 1606!
I’d love to try 1882 because your versions look amazing.
You’ve done such a lovely job on your versions of 1882 that I’m inspired to give that one a go, so I’d love to get my hands on that pattern 🙂
I’d go for 1882. I love a dress with pockets, and this looks like it hits the “looks put together, but not fussy” mark I’m always going for on weekends.
I”d love to try the 1606 pattern. I was planning on drafting a pattern just like that, but it’s always nice to have an alternative plan, and have someone else do the work for you.
1882 for the win! Simple, classy with lovely details :)_
http://www.mancunianvintage.com
It would be 1882 for me. I love the second one you made most, probably because of the choice of fabric. It also looks like a bit of a challenge to one who is not the best pattern adjuster in the business. jennylarking@gmail.com
Ooooooh I would love 1882 please! I love your print version. It would make a perfect dress for me to wear to work!
Reblogged this on Sowing the thread and commented:
Nice give away….maybe we should try!
I love 1606 for sure!
Oh 1882 would be my pick. I have similar patterns to the other style but nothing like the 1882. Fingers crossed
I would love 1882 – I absolutely adore your Nani Iro version! Thanks Karen!
Hi Karen! 1882 has been on my want list for ages, so I’d choose that one please!
I love the 1606, too. I feel it would be more flattering on my figure and I just want to play with that yoke detail!
Hi Karen – 1606 for me please. It would make a great “knock-off” of a dress that my daughter bought in LK Bennett.
Well, this is a tough one! Can we have both? lol 😉 The 1882 is more an everyday option, but I don’t think that central panel would flatter me, so I go for 1606 this time 😀 thanks for the opportunity!
I’d love to win #1882. I just love your blue version.
Please enter me for 1606 as I have the other pattern. I love these cup sized patterns and have bought quite a few of them!
1882 all the way, baby. I feel like I have a dozen patterns that are similar to 1606 already.
I’d love 1882! I like the midriff detail and a-line skirt. I also live the other pattern but already made several similar full skirts.
Your versions of 1882 have always been favorites of mine. I’d love to try the pattern out myself!
Can you put me in the hat for 1606 please. Thanks to you and Simplicity for the draw.
I like 1606 the best. Its a very flattering style
Ooh,I would love to win 1882! I loved both versions you’ve made in the past and I think the fit would suit my petite-verging-on-dumpy figure better than the other lovely offering. Thanks so much Karen and Simplicity!
I’d love 1606- looks super flattering
I really love your versions of 1882!! It’s on my wishlist
I love a good prom dress. If I am lucky enough I would love 1606 please. Thanks
1606 definitely calls my name so I would love that one if my name gets picked. Thank you!
I love 1602 but I think 1882 would be more practical for me. I also love both versions that you ahve made of it. So 1882 for me please if I am lucky enough to be drawn!
I’d love 1606! It’s such a cute little dress 🙂
1882 please! I always look for that whenever I’m at John Lewis and it’s always sold out. Love it so much.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve long admired your interpretations of 1882 – so flattering and so different! Iso 1882 for me – I think it would be super flexible.
I prefer the 1606 if i am to pick between them. both are lovely and something tells me that even if i wont get one from you i will get them anyways. 🙂
1606 all the way, princess seams and circle skirt. It doesn’t get much better that that.
I love 1882. It looks great in the pattern and your photos. I have a great fabric and piping idea all ready to go and the different cup sizes is a fantastic idea.
I would love the 1882 as we have a special lunch to attend and it would be perfect, I’ve been searching for inspiration and here it is! Love your turquoise version – I so want some more colour in my wardrobe. Brilliant idea to have different cup sizes – and with pockets and a bow, what more could a girl ask for?
Ooh, I’d love to win 1606! Partly because I already own 1882, but also it just looks lovely 🙂 Thanks so much for the giveaway!
I would love 1606- it looks like a great dress for work!
1606 is the style that would suit me best, so that’s the pattern I’d pick if I get lucky, thanks!
I love your teal dress, so it’s definitely 1882 for me!
Thank you, Carita.
1882, as much as I love the silhouette of the other one – I need sleeves!!
They’re both lovely but Simplicity 1882 wins for me (pockets! V-neck! Sleeves! Collar! A-line! ).
Can I please be entered for 1606, which I think is lovely!
The other pattern, and both your versions are sweet too, and I already have it in my to-make queue!
I would go for 1882, because your versions look great but also because I already have a very similar pattern to 1606. Thanks!
Ooh 1882 please – fingers crossed! x
Hi, I like Simplicity 1882 so much that if I don’t win it, I am going to buy it! I made Simplicity 1717 and had many problems with the yoked waist, but I plan on giving it another try soon.
Please can I put my name in the hat for 1606? Thanks so much!
Hi, I’d really like to win 1882. Thanks for hosting this 🙂
Thank you to you and Sinplicity! y choice is 1882…it has pockets!!!
Oooo 1606 would suit my body shape better but I do love your blue dress
What a wonderful giveaway!! I would go with 1882 it’s really different and I’m inspired by your makes.
1606. I’ve a wedding to go to in September and I’m on the look out for the perfect pattern-this could be it (fingers crossed)
I’d like 1606 – I have 1882 already! I love the amazing fit patterns.
1606 love the shape of this dress , what a great giveaway toes and fingers crossed
Definitely the 1882 – I can’t believe I never noticed what a cute pattern that is! They should have used your photo on the cover instead 😉
1882 please. I need dresses with sleeves in my life.
I reckon the Amazing Fit series of patterns are the bomb. Seriously.
I love the 1606, I was deciding whether or not to buy it but being a broke student I had to stop myself, so this giveaway couldn’t have arrived at a better time! Fingers crossed, as I have a fabric just in mind 🙂
1606 for me please. Thank you Simplicity and Karen!
1606 looks very versatile – would love to try it for me and my 20 year old daughter! Looking forward to it!!
ps. Thanks!
I would love 1882 because pockets! Cannot abide dresses without them… Both your versions are great and fit you beautifully.
Hi Karen I would love the 1882 pattern, great give away, thanks 🙂
I love the Amazing Fit patterns and thanks for alerting me to 1606, it looks great!! I love the Princess seams because I can use my DD Amazing Fit pattern I know fits and just adjust the D cup size of the other dresses that don’t have DD. It means I can actually have dresses that fit!!
Ooohhhh……I have been eyeing up 1882 ever since I saw your two versions. It is one of those patterns that, from the envelope I probably would have skimmed over – but now I have seen your lovely dresses I want to make it. Especially if I do not have to do a FBA to fit my (Not B) boobs into!
thanks for the giveaway. I’d have to chose 1882. 🙂
I’d love to make 1882. I think it’s mostly the pockets, but I love the neckline, the way it softens the V neck.
You will need a very big hat to fit all of the bits in. I am for 1882 – pockets are a must in my little world.
Hi. I love the 1882 (especially your versions!). I love seeing how the patterns come out when used in “real life”-usually way better than the pic on the patterns(no offence Simplicity!)
Saw the title and had my fingers crossed for 1882 – I have been coveting since your turquoise version!
Thanks for being the give-away-er! I have my eye on the 1882 – so practical and pretty! And it is time for me to sew something for me and not for the kiddies. Thanks!
Thanks for the giveaway Karen!
I’d like 1882 – I already have some patterns that are similar to the 1606, but the 1882 is different to most other patterns I own!
1882
Oh, a giveaway. I’m in!
I think the 1606 is my pick, although it is a close run thing because your versions of the 1882 are fun and a great silhouette.
Ooh I love 1882 – and especially the turquoise version of yours (lovely!).
I have been meaning to buy 1882 for ages as I totally live your 2 versions so please put me in the draw for this. Thank you.
I like 1882 looks like everyday wear something i would love to make
1882 for me. It’s a style I’ve not tried before. Love the collar & bow.
I love these amazing fit patterns too. I have 3 of them already. I would love 1882, please. I have eyed it up several times, but when I went to buy it on sale they didn’t have the right size. . .
I really like them both – A LOT – but if I have to pick, I’d say the 1606 is more “me”.
The 1606 would be the one for me. I’ve been looking at it.
1606!
I’d love 1882! Thanks for the chance to win it.
I would love 1606 as the flared skirt would be more flattering and balance out my wide shoulders. Thanks!
If I was the lucky winner, I’d go for the 1882. Thanks for the giveaway.
1882 if I am lucky enough to get picked – i love your turquoise version particularly
I had not seen 1882 before, or maybe it just did not catch my eye, but now I am looking forward to sewing 1606 which I purchased the last time simplicity patterns were on sale. Thanks for reviewing it.
1882 would be my choice!
I would love to try 1606. A princess bodice sundress looks perfect for the current heatwave.
I’d choose 1606 because its simply so classic and elegant. Its a very flattering pattern and I’d love to try my hand at it. Thank you for the opportunity to win it.
I love 1606; love a fitted bodice with flared skirt on my body type (a little pearish here)
1882 looks fantastic. I love wearing dresses – if they have pockets it’s an added bonus!
Thank you and Simplicity for a wonderful giveaway, but don’t include me in it, thanks. I wanted to add my voice to the 1606 chorus, because I like the fuller skirt.
1882 – love the pockets!
Difficult choice, but 1606 is probably best for my figure. Thank you Karen and Simplicity.
I like 1882 best, because it has a sleeve option.
I’ve always really liked your teal dress, so 1882 is the one I’d love to try.
I love your teal 1882, so I’d go for that in hopes of making a copy, or at least a cheap looking knockoff.
Tough choice but I think I would have to go for 1606 as I’m pear shaped and it would suit me better plus I don’t think I’d like the wider waistband section on 1882.
I’d like 1606, because I already have 1882. I have seen one of your versions of 1882, the teal one, and I’m so impressed, but now that I see the other version you made, I have to bump up this pattern in my sewing queue, because that version is amazing!
I prefer 1882 because I think it’s more original. I really love your teal version of it ! The other one is nice also but a bit more simple.
Thanks for the giveaway !
1606- to remind me of a Vogue dress I made myself in 1987. I have been looking for that pattern for the past 5 years.. Thanks, Ciara
I think the 1606 would be super for my daughter who will no doubt have a lot of proms and special occasions coming up in the next few years
http://asaucystitch.blogspot.co.uk
hard to choose since they are both lovely….but 1606 creeps further into my heart 😉
Love your blog, thanks for the giveaway! I think I’m swayed by both your gorgeous versions of the 1882. It’s the little extras in the details, the bows and pockets, that move it from being an ‘ordinary’ dress. Joanne x
What a lovely giveaway! I’d choose 1882, please, since I think I’d get much more wear out of that kind of dress (assuming I’d ever be able to make it!). Thank you & all the best xx
Love your blog and thanks for the giveaway. I’m swayed by both your versions of the 1882. It’s those little details like the bow and the pocket that make the difference. Joanne x
Absolutely 1882 for me! Thank you and Simplicity for this giveaway!
1882 for me please. At last a pattern I can change easily!
Renee
1606 for me! 🙂
Ohh, 1606 please. I love circular skirts and it’d be great to be able to adjust for my top half without lots of swearing and pins.
The 1606 for me I think, I like the shape. It also looks like it may be slightly easier to make, but still would be a big challenge! But hey, we like challenges!
I’ve had my eye on 1882 since you posted your first version, it’s delicious!
they’re both great! 1882 is my fave though as i think it’d get more day-to-day wear (and who couldn’t do with another dress?!) xo
1882 please.
I would choose 1882… simple but also stylish, Love the pockets!
Have to say 1882 is the one I’d prefer, while the 1606 looks lovely the 1882 looks more everyday wearable and I do love a dress with pockets. That teal version is just gorgeous!
I love 1882! Ever since I saw your first make of this pattern, I have wanted to try it!
Both look amazing but I think 1882 would suit me better.
Oh I love 1882. If I won I promise to make this with piping. (An embellishment I love but have been scared to try)
I’ve thought about getting 1882 based on your versions, which are so lovely. So yes, I would choose that one.
1882! Your two dresses have inspired me!
fit is the whole reason I got into sewing. So I really love the idea of these patterns. I will go with 1606 because I think it meets more of a need in my wardrobe. Thank you for having this lovely giveaway 🙂
I love the 1882 the most. The other design is also lovely, but I think it would suit a younger person better. I love the versions you have made of 1882. They are both great inspirations for me. Clever girl!
1882 is on my wishlist, so that’s the one for me.
I think 1882 would make a wonderful day dress, so I’d like to be in for that one, please.
I love them both, and I would make them both. But if I have to choose one, it would be 1606. I live near the beach and could totally use another beach halter sundress!
I really like 1606 but think I would probably use 1882 more!
I’d pick 1606.
I already own 1606. Therefore, I’d like 1882. I think we have similar figures.so I’m hopeful that I can make it look as good on me.
It’s almost unfair to 1606 that you’ve done such great versions of 1882, especially since the illustration does 1882 no favors (typical.) But I LOVE what you’ve done with it and I am full of ideas for day dresses – I’d love 1882! Thanks for the giveaway!
I’d love to get a chance to win 1882, it’s such a charming dress and the bow really makes it super cute!
They are both great, but I would like the 1882 best. The collar on the technical drawing reminds me so much of Cinderella’s dress made by the birds (Disney version, naturally) so it brings me straight back to my childhood…
Both patterns look great but I’d love to have a go at 1606 !
What a great give away! I’d love to get a chance to win 1882. Those neckline with a bow and the pockets are totally adorable.
oooooh 1606! I’m an F cup, so finding something I can customize is key! and I LOVE a good boatneck!
For me the 1882, it is more of a daydress to wear.
I have been wanting to make it for several month now since i spotted your version with the bold print, just love it to bits!!!
I would love 1606, only because I already have 1882 🙂
Thanks for the give away!
Coming out of long term lurker -hood to comment! Both are lovely but I’d love to try 1882!
Ooooo. I’d like the 1606
I’d love the 1882, but as I’ve just been remeasured as an F cup I’m not sure how well it’ll work!
Decisions, decisions. I can’t decide so don’t mind if you do it for me. Its just nice to be in with a chance to get a new pattern and the bonus ball is they are free too! Thank you very much
I think as I am a little thicker around the waistline ( as I get older) that 1882 would be the most flattering for me. Also some of my sewing friends are – what shall I say larger around the bustline, so the fit for them would be very useful. I have taken note of the fabric requirement as I am taking 9 ladies on a fabric shopping trip to London on Saturday so may pick up some suitable fabric, in case I am the lucky winner!!
My choice is naturally 1882. The ones you´ve made are so beautiful that I´d like to make one for myself, too. Thank you for a nice blog!
I love 1882!!!
Count me in for 1882! I like the fitting options and the neckline looks like a flattering one for me.
1882!
Would love to win one of these! 1882 would be my preference.
1882 is my pick!
I’d love the challenge of 1882 please 🙂
Hi Karen, your versions of 1882 are beautiful…..so 1882 please!
Both patterns are great. It’s so hard to choose one. I would select 1606. There is something about having the ability to twirl in a skirt if you want too. I’d love to try to sew it!
Both patterns are beautiful, but I think I’d prefer 1882. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love the casual vibe from 1882! Thanks for the giveaway, it’s a great idea!
It’s got to be 1606 for me if I’m the luck one 🙂
1606, I have a wedding to attend in September and I think that would be perfect!
Definate,y 1882 for me, I love your versions!
I’d pick 1606 if I win. You’re right–it’s incredibly versatile and has the potential to become a TNT. I do love the collar and little bow on the other one, but I would make the neck opening a bit lower I think.
I prefer the 1606 because it would be more flattering to my circle of girls body type
Hohn, whilst both are lovely 1882 has the edge for me. I think it’s the bow! Please put my name in the hat for 1882. Many thanks. X
Would love to see myself in 1882…
You’re right about the little details making this pattern tick.
Would love to try my hand at 1882. I prefer it because I think it would be more flattering for my body shape. Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love a chance to work with pattern 1606. Thank you
I love 1882. Princess seams are my friend! Thanks for the chance 🙂
Karen – I’m a longtime lurker but my first time commenting – I love your blog, your writing, your sewing (of course) and your outlook. My beloved black halterneck summer dress is on its last legs, so I’d love you to put me into the 1606 hat. Thank you!
1606, definitely (in a plus-size, if available). That would flow really nicely on me–and who doesn’t love a good swirly skirt?
Hi 1882 is my pick.Thanks
Sue
Can you count me in? I was originally tending to 1606 based on the pattern envelopes, but I love your Nani Iro fabric version of 1882 so much… so 1882 please? I’ve never tried an Amazing Fit pattern but they sound… like they fit amazingly well :).
I love the 1882. The collar is lovely and who doesn’t love a little bow.
Thanks,
Abbe
1882 pretty please 🙂
1882 for me. It would look so nice for work. Always on the look out for smart dresses that are intresting to make as I work in a school science lab. Never sure what might happen to it when its made!
Great giveaway. I’d go for 1882, slightly more practical for me. Your two versions look fabulous!
I love both of your versions of 1882, so if I was lucky enough to win that would be my choice!
I would love 1882 since your version is so awesome!
I’d go for 1882 please, I think it’s very wearable for a number of occasions!
1882 looks great to me!
1606 please!
Definitely 1882 after seeing your gorgeous versions!
Wow. I really love both patterns, but since I already own a vintage pattern that is similar to 1606, put me in the hat for 1882. And you have given me an idea for what to make for that wedding in September…
Yes please! 1882 has majorly been on my wishlist ever since I saw your double gauze version. You have pride of place on my pinterest board! Thanks for all the inspiration.
I like the Simplicity 1882 !!!
I’ve been meaning to have a go with an amazing fit pattern as my body is a bit odd. Both patterns are fab, but 1882 is a frock with pockets – wowzer. Please put me in the hat.
Thanks for the chance to win a great prize, I would love the 1882 pattern !
thanks again Helen.
I like the full skirt of 1606
love the 1882 – your teal green one looks great!!
I’ve always admired 1882 and would love the chance to give it a try.
Definately 1882. Very pretty and your versions are great showcases for this pattern.
Ooo I really love the 1606. I could easily see myself making the halter neck version 🙂
My favorite is 1882 and I really love your two version of this pattern.
Another fan of 1882! You make the loveliest things and I always am excited to see a new post on your blog. Very inspiring!
They both really cute – but for me the pockets win, so 1882 (though I’d be tempted to flare the skirt a little more…)
I keep meaning to buy 1882, so winning it would save me the trouble 😉
The 1606 would be perfect for a vintage 50s themed wedding I’m attending this October!
Its got to be 1606, Ive been looking for the perfect pattern to make my bridesmaids dresses and this has got to be it! Love 1882 too and your versions have tempted me to add this one to my shopping cart! 🙂
I adore 1606, that sweatheart neckline is to die for, I also love the optional addition of a sheer top for times when you dont really need to be exaggerating those bosoms! I really need to get to grips with sewing with patterns more. I am so easily distracted by a free tutorial, there just isn’t time to do them all!
Both patterns are lovely, but I’ve been wanting to try 1606 for a while.
So hard to choose, but I like the vintage-y feel of 1882. So it will be my choice 🙂
Ohh- 1882 please, I’ve looked with admiration at your two versions!
Although I have been planning on making a dress with a lace top like 1606, I’ve fallen in love with your turquoise version of 1882 and need to make one of my own! 🙂
1882 would be my choice!
1606 looks absolutely lovely – the alterations and modifications I could make from this pattern are endless. I’d be a great start to the relaunching of blog to show my making of this.
1606 would be my choice, I think the flared skirt is more flattering on my figure. I’d like to make it in daytime fabrics for work!
After many years of historical sewing, I finally wanted to start sewing for my personal wardrobe this year.
Simplicity 1606 is one of the patterns with which I wanted to start – finally, summer has come to Germany and I think it would look lovely on a day at the lake!
Plus: I think it would be the perfect pattern to use to create a fitted dressformcover with a few alterations. So: If i am the lucky one, Simplicity 1606 would be it. 🙂
I love the details of 1882! So lovely. I would pick that one if I was lucky enough to win.
1882 is my favorite, cute, versatile. The other dress is very pretty, but not my taste.
I love version 1882 and would love to win it! Hope I’m not too late to enter.
Oh, just under the wire, it’s not midnight yet! Yay! Anyway, version 1882 seems more like it could be worn every day and I love the contrast pockets on it. Fingers crossed.
1882 – I can see me making many versions. Thanks
1606 is my favourite.
I think I’d have to go with the 1882
I actually already own the 1882 (bought it a few weeks after seeing your versions 🙂 so I’d go for the 1606. The strap version looks perfect for summer!
Oh, I’ve long admired your renditions of 1882. The dresses you’ve made are ever so flattering and I would love to recreate the look.
Sam – Australia
I went out and bought the 1882 after you blogged about it. I would love to try the 1606. I looked at it when purchasing the others, (I bought 3 patterns that day). Thank you for all the help you share with us all around the globe. And thanks to Simplicity. This has got me excited to go sew a dress this week.
I love the details of 1882! So lovely. I would pick that one if I was lucky enough to win.
