Anyone remember when I reviewed Knit Your Own Scotland? I thought that book couldn’t be outdone. I was wrong. The publisher and authors have only gone and done it again, and this time they’ve brought out the big guns. David and Victoria Beckham, anyone?
Or my favourite Beatle?
What about the nation’s favourite TV couple?
A lady who inspires strong emotions…
And a man who makes knees tremble…
You know what, though? I bet they wish they’d had the foresight to knit a certain ickle baby. Downloadable book supplement? Come on!
I love, love, love this book. It stands for everything I believe in. In fact, the only thing I believe in – FUN! It is published on 22 July but you can already buy it here. Buy it! Publishers like these deserve our support. They’re not just doing the obvious, they’re doing the innovative. This I like a lot. We NEED books about knitted figures in our lives, even if we think we don’t. Seriously.
Who wouldn’t like their own James Bond. Or knitted Marmite jar. 🙂
Very cute!
HAH! Love it!
That’s too brilliant. Especially Posh and Becks
The knitted Beckhams are hilarious. Genius!
The Marmite jar! Love.
Great idea but are we not a multi cultural society? Surely we could represent ourselves in a broader way.
Who would you like to see knitted next? I’ll pass the message on to the publisher. I’m sure they’d like to take feedback on board.
I think I speak for many of us when I say TINY KNITTABLE IDRIS ELBA PLEASE. And I don’t even knit 🙂
This is so wonderful I don’t know where to put myself.
Here’s a knitted guy in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=–PG66A3lo4
What a fun idea! Although I must admit that scrolling down I thought I saw mr. Bean, but it was supposed to be James Bond.
You want to knit the Royal Baby? There’s already a pattern…although I will warn you it’s a little scary! http://www.people.com/people/mobile/article/0,,20395222_20691778,00.html
That book is amazing, they’ve picked such good people!
O that link came out funny, this one’s better! http://www.ivypress.co.uk/2013/07/01/knit-your-own-royal-baby-exclusive-picture-pattern-from-fiona-goble-and-the-ivy-press/
It looks great – love the jar of Marmite….
I would like someone to knit me that little MINI Cooper. It would go well into my collection 🙂
This is adorable….hmmm, I’d love my own little Jon Rhys Meyers….
How big are these figures? I got all excited about knitting up a President Obama figure, until I realized it was 24 inches tall. That’s a whole lot of stuffing, right there.
I’m voting for a knitted Robert Plant…
i want a knitted richard and judy!!
I don’t know if it is the same people, but I have the Knit Your Own Dog book and I love it!
Oh my! haha
I’ve got the Scotland version because my mum has a major love for Billy Connolly. Since it is her birthday in August, I have been knitting him up as a gift. Its so quick after knitting cardigans for real people! 25 rows and you have an arm 🙂
I have knitted most of his body parts but they are not sewn together yet so it just looks a bit like a pile of pink limbs at the moment…
who are you going to knit first?
This is epic!!! If I could knit, I’d be tempted to make our little baby a pair of PJ & Duncan’s to play with (AKA dribble on!) xxx
I agree great book (although I can not knit). I am pleased to see a dog in the book as so many Brits love their dogs (me included).
Please can you tell us the heights of the items in this book.it will give mesome ideal of what I am up against to knit
Im trying to find a pattern for charles darwin is there one in this book or can anyone help?
