Dangling The Sewlutions Carrot

The Mistress of the Jar may be a cold-hearted stickler for deadlines, but I am a soft-hearted soul who’s not above dangling a carrot on a stick. Fancy a bit of extra motivation for meeting your 31 December Sewlutions deadline? What about this as a prize, for the lucky winner:

Yes, the lucky winner will receive all of the above – as long as they originally threw their name into the jar. Now, doesn’t that sewing machine look suddenly alluring? The Mistress’s mood has improved…

Those are certainly attractive carrots! Arrgh, I am unfortunately so so buried under work that I think only a miracle will get those pants (I think that was it) finished by the end of the year…

  2. Debi says:

Woohooo! This should be interesting who responds to the carrot or the stick? :-)… I love my veggies….

  3. lisa g says:

oooh what great loot! no worries here… finished mine a few times over 🙂

  4. Katrina says:

    Mmmmm carrots

Pushing through the wall to get my sewlution done on time!

  5. soisewedthis says:

Oh exciting prizes!! I finished my sewlution from the jar (twice actually!) and I’ll post the details soon.

  6. EmSewCrazy says:

OOh I need to get cracking! I’ve got my sewlution done technically but I do have more work I’d like to do on it. That fabric looks scrumptious!

  7. BeaJay says:

    I’m trying – I really am..

  8. Oh how I wish I was one of the original Sewlution people! Those incentives look amazing!

  9. If you have another Sewlutions in 2014 I am definately in 🙂

  10. Joanne says:

Dang. I don’t think I actually threw mine in the jar.

  11. Morag O says:

I am 7 garments behind target…..anyone got a time machine?

  12. how do you like the book pattern cutting made easy? I’m doubting if I would buy it. 🙂

  13. Sam says:

What a great incentive to finish. Luckily I completed my Sewultion – a pair of trousers – some months ago.

  14. Wow, what a generous prize. Im excited!!!

  15. Erika says:

    Yummy carrot! =)
Oh dear, and I who had almost told myself it was ok to miss the deadline and make a dress for the holiday festivities instead… I was on a roll with the sewlution menswear dress shirt, but then I discovered a huge flaw in the drafting and now I know the shirt will most likely not be wearable. It’ll be finished anyway, and then I can make all those foolish first-time mistakes on it. It’s just so boring to finish a garment I know will never be worn =(

That Christmas dress in jersey and lace on the other hand… ; ) *sigh* I need to get my act in order and just sew the darn shirt. Then maybe the next shirt will be easy (or easier)!

  16. Sabs says:

Oooh, the mistress is a devil! But lucky for me I’ve ticked off mine (and a few more to boot, aren’t I a swot?!)

  17. mycrafthouse says:

I’m not in the competition (wish i was!) but was wondering if the pattern cutting book is good? I’m thinking about buying it x

  18. Karen Helm says:

Now I am extra happy that I finished my “sewlution” last summer – my Chanel-inspired jacket (and dress that matches the lining) is the perfect holiday attire. I think this is the only time I have ever finished anything ahead of schedule!

  19. That’s an extraordinary incentive. But I like to think it has nothing to do with why I’ve been down on the floor gluing bits of paper together for much of the day. 😉

My goal was to sew my self a wardrobe, This time last year most of my cloths were worn out, and I really needed allot of new dresses and leggings, sense then I have sewn at least 16 dresses, 3 par of leggings, one t-shirt, 1 coat in my own design (this wast the thing I started with new to making clothes as I was) I shirt, 1 slip, 1 blouse, 2 skirts. And knitted 4 cardigans for me, + a few for others.
The most challenging being my wedding gown sewn by hand sense the sewing machine we had then was chewing up nice fabric, we got a proper one as a wedding present, and now I have conceded knits.

  21. Elizabeth says:

I will I will I will make a wearable Minoru jacket.
I must I must I must stop dithering about the fabric and get on with it…

  22. Please, please, please, do the sewlutions again for 2014. I have just begun sewing again and I need a huge carrot at the end of my refashioning project (which includes all of my mom’s wardrobe).

    Pretty please?

  23. Catherine says:

oooh yes! with a horde like this ill NEED to enter for 2014!
