The Inari Tee Dress from Named Patterns is every bit as wonderful as all those other bloggers say. Love it. I also love this luxury crepe from Sew Over It. Luscious to the touch and fab to work with. I’m going to buy some more and make a second Inari Tee Dress for sure!
I traced my pattern pieces, being careful to add seam allowances.
And I added stay stitching at the neckline, even though the pattern instructions didn’t mention this. I’m glad I did, as the unfinished dress then sat on my dressmaker’s dummy for a week.
I really love the split hem detail and slightly cocoon side seam.
That’s my dress, and these are daffodils. Enjoy!
Great colour choice. It’s a modern classic dress, the Inari was certainly one of my favourite projects of 2015.
Love that dress! Such gorgeous colour and fabric. Cheers, Michele
Loving how this dress can look casual or smart. I printed off the pdf this week and that has seam allowances on. I am lazy! Looks stunning how you have dressed it up K xXx
So glad to read your comment. Having made this last year, my heart skipped a beat regarding the seam allowance.
As always, lovely make, Karen.
Karen that is stunning on you! (and so are the daffs) nice pics! xx
😍😍 estilosisimo!!
Love the shoes and tights combo with the dress, all works perfectly x
Lovely dress and great fabric!
I *love* this outfit from top to toe! The dress is hot and where are those awesome shoes from? (I’m all about the yellow!)
The shoes are a few years old now, from Clarks.
It’s beautiful!
Shoes colour matching with flowers, how cool! Your Inari is one of the most fantastic I have seen yet. Now I wonder how it looks on you from the back and profile, which is what I find more challenging with this style.
Great dress and love the shoes
Lovely dress. Another pattern I’m going to have to buy!
I have a styling question. I love wearing my shift dresses however I don’t find them very warm (even with a slip). A cardigan seems the obvious choice but I haven’t found one that works with a dress that shape. How do you manage to look so stylish but not freeze to death?
Boyfriend cardigans! I’m currently wearing mine with this one: http://www.winserlondon.com/catalog/product/view/id/356. Or I’d recommend the Style Arc Nina cardigan.
Boo hoo. Just found the printed pattern is now out of stock. You must have the Delia effect on sewing patterns
Lovely!
Gorgeous. And that fabric almost looks like velvet in your photos! I would never have even dreamt of sewing the Inari with it’s cocoon shape, thinking it would be very unflattering on me, but I am seeing so many beautiful versions around the web that I am starting to become very tempted…
I really recommend the crepe. When it arrives from online ordering, it doesn’t look that amazing, but as soon as you start working with it, you realise how special it is. They have a good range of colours, too.
A very chic and classy dress Karen. Good to know the luxury crepe is as wonderful to work with as it looks. I just splashed out on some last week for my next project! x
I’m going to echo what everyone above has already said: great dress! The fabric looks truly luxurious and the color is beautiful. I like everyone’s Inari dresses and still I worry it would look sack-like on me — yes, in spite of this ample evidence to the contrary. Any fitting tips, elements to pay attention to on this pattern (apart from seam allowances, that is)?
Luscious! I love that colour and I can just imagine how delightful that silk must feel! I’m not one of those who has done up an Inari but it does look like a style that will be around a while and can be made very casual or dressy as you have done. So beautifully sewn 🙂
I love that dress! That fabric is so gorgeous, and now I’m tempted to make one myself. Love the shoes too…
What a wonderful dress! The Inari has been a pattern I have bookmarked for a while, the cocoon shape seems to work really well. It looks so flattering.
Beautiful toned Inari dress Karen! Also thanks for reminding me about those shoes, I have them stashed away in the cupboard and barely wear them. I must dig them out!
It looks really nice on you Karen, and you look amazing in that colour!
The perfect pattern to highlight that gorgeous crepe. Love the styling too and those shoes work so well with the whole outfit.
Looks great! The navy is fab. I’ve made 2, one in a linen with a different pattern on top,and one as a sleeveless in a knit. So versatile!
Did you make the sleeves a bit longer?
No. Sewed everything according to instructions. Worth knowing that this is drafted for someone who is 5’8″ and I am 5’5″.
You look perfect in the dress.
So often simplicity wins! Lovely dress!!
love the deep inky colour, works perfectly with the simple style. Going to have to try the crepe – had an issue with a poly crepe as it just wouldn’t flatten when pressed.
Gorgeous dress and photography! Love the fabric, I made my first inari last week and its not going to be my last!
Beautiful deep blue colour, really nice crepe is hard to source.
Love that dress. It looks so stylish and comfy at the same time and the colour is so rich and gorgeous. Your shoes are killer. Got to say that I really like your vase too. Is it a vintage one? The colours are fantastic. Xx
It’s Poole Pottery.
So pretty! I love this pattern. I made two last year. 🙂
This dress is right up my street. And it looks amazing on you. Loving those yellow shoes. X
Very beautiful and elegant!
LOVE IT! The color and how you styled it! I’m sure i wear this and look like crap, you look wonderful, classy, superb! You can totally enjoy doing another one!
