Yesterday was Ella’s 5th birthday – so what better way to celebrate than with a trip to see Annie at The Village Haberdashery, with Ella wearing her High Five Kerchief? Sounded like a good idea to me!
This was my first visit to the new, larger store in West Hampstead. It’s amazing – and beautiful. Here is their oh-so-serene teaching and workshop space…
And here are their racks of wool. So yummy!
I bought some beautiful claret linen – the depth of colour is to die for.
After our fabric shopping, we visited Hampstead Heath so that Ella could enjoy a well-deserved run around. The heath is only two train stops away from The Village Haberdashery. If that doesn’t call for a group fabric outing followed by a group picnic on the heath, I don’t know what does!
Did you know about the three bathing ponds on the heath? Understandably, neither photography nor dogs are allowed. Next time, I might need to leave Ella at home…
Happy birthday Ella! I hope you cooked her a nice dinner after your outing! She’s a great enabler in the fabric shopping dept…
What a perfect birthday! I definitely can’t imagine anything better. I’ve been wanting to visit the new village haberdashery for so long, it looks just gorgeous!
That does look gorgeous and a super day out, you will have to venture a dip next time. I look forward to seeing the fabric take shape. x
We spent 3.5 years living in Hampstead and I used to love taking my dog for rambles in the Heath. Even after living there for several years, I used to get lost. I never swam in the ponds, but I know that exact spot you’ve photographed. Were the blackberries in season? Every year we went blackberry picking, and absolutely gorged ourselves.
What a wonderful way to spend a birthday! And that red linen is beautiful.
Hi Karen, Happy birthday to Ella. Have you changed a setting to stop the full post being available on Feedly?
You can take Ella on the train? How marvellous!
If I lived nearer, I would be there in a shot. Sounds like a perfect day!
What a wonderful day out. I think fabric shopping and a picnic sounds like a wonderful idea 🙂
Happy birthday, Ella! What a beautiful space and the workshops look like fun. I have never been out to Hampstead Heath but live pretty close to London now and have been planning a fabric shopping day for later in the year. Will have to pop this on my list. Xx
Happy birthday, Ella! What a lovely day and, wow, that red line is gorgeous!
Happy birthday beautiful Ella! And yes please to Hamstead-haberdashery-picnic meet up! 😀
Super cute, I’ll have to check it out sometime! I recently made a round-up of my favourite things to do in Hampstead: http://lizziesrestlessfeet.com/2018/02/18/%ef%bb%bfhampstead/ I might need to add your suggestion to the list! 🙂
